Oasis poster analysis
The is poster in comparison to others I have looked at for this genre is very bright and colourful challenging the stereotypes of this genre which is seen to be associated with dark colours as featured on the poster for Arctic Monkeys. The band is not featured on the front representing the band to have a hidden identity but also implying that it's all about the music and not the look. On the poster the mode of address is a RollsRoyce appearing as though it is jumping out of swimming pool, in the back garden of what appears to be a mansion. My inturpratation if this is that the band are mocking the middle class by giving the message that they just waist their money. This implies that the band come from a working class background and therefore have had to grow up with a tough childhood. The image on a whole has a yellow undertone giving the image a vintage outlook to the audience. The bands name is placed top middle just like the Arctic Monkeys poster. The bands name is also in the bands signature font, which is featured on every single album the band has. This signifies that the band like to keep things simple. Located at the bottom of the poster is where the album name is found (be here now) as well as a link to the bands website. There is also an option for the audience whether or not they want to buy the CD or keeping with the vintage/ indie style you can get it on vinyl. That is all information wise there is on the poster again linking to the idea they don't give too much away, they are straight to the point and have a low budget.
